On Monday 11 December 2017, at the premises of Permanent Representation of Republic of Poland to the Council of Europe an evening of polish Christmas carols and traditional songs took place. The concert was enriched with the most popular pieces of F. Chopin.

The performing artists were Anna Lasota (soprano), from the Musical Theatre in Poznań Jakub Oczkowski (tenor) from the National Opera in Warsaw and Piotr Żukowski (pianist), participant of International Chopin Piano Competition.

The traditional patriotic songs were related to the upcoming 100 anniversary of independence of Poland and, as such, were kind of prelude to its celebration in 2018. The compilation of patriotic songs, Chopin music, polish Christmas carols and international standards was very well received and enthusiastically applauded by the audience.

Due to the limited space, only about 100 person could participate to the evening. Permanent Representation of the Republic of Poland hosted such personalities as Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Ms Gabriella Battaini-Dragoni, President of the European Court of Human Rights, Mr Guido Raimondi and Mr Wojciech Sawicki, Secretary General of the Parliament Assembly of the Council of Europe. Besides, about 20 Ambassadors accredited to the Council of Europe and representatives of Polish diaspora, as well as the Eurocorps soldiers and Polish priests participated to the evening.

After the official part, a reception filled with Polish specialties followed.
