  •  On 26 November 2008 r. the 17th Polish Films Festival („Quinzaine du Cinéma Polonais") was inaugurated in the „Odyssée" Cinema in Strasbourg by the projection of „Katyń" by Andrzej Wajda.

    The Festiwal was opened by Ambassador Piotr A. Świtalski, Permanent Representative of Poland to the Council of Europe, and Mr Faruk Gunaltay, Director of the „Odyssée" Cinema. Polonia representatives, members of the Polish staff of the Council of Europe as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps at the Council of Europe were among the invited guests. 

    Apart from "Katyń" the following film productions were shown during the two-week festival lasting until 9 December 2008: „Cztery noce z Anną" ("Four nights with Anna") by Jerzy Skolimowski, „Sztuczki" ("Tricks") by Andrzej Jakimowski and „Ogród Luizy" ("Louise's Garden") by Maciej Wojtyszko.

    The Festival is the only periodical event promoting the Polish cinematography in France. Over the last 17 years more than 160 Polish films were presented to the Strasbourg public by the „Odyssée" Ciemna.
