  •  On 15 April 2009 a concert of Chopin's music performed by a well-known French pianist Elizabeth Sombart took place in the residence of the Permanent Representation of Poland to the Council of Europe.

    The concert was organized jointly by the Permanent Representative of Poland, Ambassador Piotr A. Świtalski, and the Association Napoleonien Souvenir d'Alsace. Guests heard, inter alia, Ballades in F minor op. 52, five mazurkas (op. 30, op. 33 and op. 63), Spinato Andante and Polonaise in E flat major op.22. Born in Strasbourg and educated in Buenos Aires, the artist currently lives in Switzerland. She performed, inter alia in the Theater des Champs-Elysées in Paris, the Carnegie Hall in New York, Wigmore Hall in London, Suntory Hall in Tokyo.

    The concert was heard by more than 100 invited guests - representatives of the diplomatic corps, members of the Association Napoleonien Souvenir d'Alsace and Polonia. After the concert a cocktail for guests was held.

    The concert was organized to commemorate the 160th anniversary of Chopin's death and the bicentenary of birth of Napoleon III.
