  • On 13th -14th February 2007 with a working visit the Minister of Foreign Affaires of the Republic of Poland - Mrs. Anna Fotyga was staying in Strasbourg.

    On 14th February 2007 Mrs. Minister had met with Jean-Paul Costa, the president of the European Court of Human Rights. During their meeting the questions of a reform of the Court, its place in the institutional architecture of the Council of Europe and cooperation between the Court and the local authorities were brought up.

    J.-P. Costa, who is exercising the function of the president of the European Court of Human Rights since 18th January 2007, presented the priorities of the Court for the coming years. Mrs. Minister declared a Polish government's cooperation in an implementation of the reforms aiming a rationalization of the system based on the European Convention on Human Rights, in pilotage sentences' executing as well as Mrs. Minister brought up the issue of the claims against Poland.

    During the visit in Strasbourg, Mrs. Minister Anna Fotyga took part in a series of meetings in the European Parliament. Mrs. Minister met with Hans-Gert Pöttering, the president of the Parliament, Jacek Saryusz-Wolski, the chairman of the Parliamentarian Commission of Foreign Affaires as well as she participated in a meeting of the Polish Club of the European Parliament.
