  • On 5 May 2010, a concert of the music by Chopin was performed by a young and talented Polish pianist Krzysztof Trzaskowski at the premises of the Permanent Representation of Poland to the Council of Europe in Strasbourg. The concert was organised at the initiative of Ambassador Piotr A. Świtalski as part of the celebration of the 3rd May Constitution Day, Poland's National Day. 

    The programme of the concert included such masterpieces by Chopin as: Nocturne op. posth. in C-sharp minor, Rondo op. 1 in C minor, Nocturne op. 48 no. 1 in C minor, Etude op. 10 no. 12 in C minor "Revolutionary", Mazurka Op. 30 No. 2 in B minor , Mazurka op. 17 No. 4 in A minor, Ballade op. 52 in F minor, Andante Spianato and Great Polonaise op. 22 in E-flat major.

    Some 50 invited quests heard the recital, among them permanent representatives of Member States of the Council of Europe, high officials of the Council of Europe Secretariat and representatives of the Polish community in Alsace.  A cocktail party was offered after the concert. 

    The performance by K. Trzaskowski and his masterful interpretation of the most famous works by Chopin was very well received by the invited guests. 

    Krzysztof Trzaskowski was born in Białystok (Poland) on 10 May 1987. At present he is a student at the Fryderyk Chopin Music Academy in Warsaw with prof. Piotr Paleczny as his main tutor. He is a prizewinner of many Polish and foreign piano competitions. He reached the semi-final of the previous Chopin Competition in 2005 and was awarded a special prize of the Chopin Association in Geneva. He gave recitals in many prestigious concert halls in Japan, China, Canada, Germany, France, Switzerland, Tunisia, Estonia and Russia.
